Your Local Election Headquarters: IM24 is unconstitutional, federal judge rules

A federal judge has shot down an initiated measure voted into law by South Dakota voters.

Initiated Measure 24 is unconstitutional according to a federal judge. He says IM24 violates the First Amendment. The Institute of Free Speech calls this a big win for Free Speech.

A trade deal with China that would end the trade war and ease the damage to American agriculture seemed just around the corner. Not so fast. President Trump is threatening to impose new tariffs as early as tomorrow—after US negotiators accused Chinese officials of reneging on promises made in the negotiations so far. Anna Wiernicki reports trade talks between the U.S. and China continue today in Washington, as lawmakers applaud the President’s tough approach…and worry about the impacts of the trade war on their constituents.

Vandals cause damage to cars

Police have arrested two suspects for allegedly causing thousands of dollars in damage to cars in Sioux Falls. Authorities say the suspects, 19 and 20 years old, broke several car mirrors Wednesday morning.

Police say 16 owners have reported damage to their vehicles so far. The estimated damage amount totals more than $5,000.

One suspect allegedly used a wooden dowel to break the mirrors while the other drove. The two suspects face charges of intentional damage to property.
