Pierre and Watertown will be once again getting commercial flights in and out of their airports. Pierre’s airport liaison Jamie Huizenga announced the decision by the FAA at the end of a city council meeting Tuesday night, according to KCCR Radio News.
City officials wanted SkyWest Airlines, which will operate as United Express to provide service.
The airline said in their proposal, they will offer 12 round-trip flights a week between the two airports and Denver.
It’s unclear when service will begin. KELOLAND News has reached out to both Skywest Airlines and United Airlines for comment.
