SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KELO) — There’s a first time for everything.

A Roosevelt High School student from Sioux Falls invited Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke to be her prom date.

It happened at a meet and greet Thursday night in Sioux City, Iowa.

“So first of all, as someone who did not go to prom because no one asked me I’m really touched. This means more to me than you know. But somebody told me about your sign and so we came up with a counterproposal. So — will you caucus for me. You’re in? Okay,” O’Rourke said.

Of course she can’t go caucus for him in South Dakota, but she didn’t go home empty handed, afterwards, O’Rourke autographed the sign for her.
